Sri Sri Gaura Gadadhar
During Mahaprabhu’s time, three deities of Him appeared and one of them (Gaura Gadadhara) is at Champahatti. This very old deity was worshipped by Dvija Vani Nath, brother of Sri Gadadhara Pandita.
On the auspicious occasion of his disappearance day, let us pray to Sri Gadadhara Pandita to kindly bestow his mercy upon us and engage us in his devotional service.
He is Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s dear most associate. He is none other than Srimati Radhika herself in Krishna Lila.
Being desirous of experiencing the highest of sentiments that Srimati Radharani feels for Lord Sri Krishna, Lord Sri Krishna took the form of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
Today is the auspicious disappearance day of Sri Gadadhara pandita. In Pancha tattva to the left of Mahaprabhu is Gadadhara Pandita.
Personal deities of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura – Sri Sri Gaura Gadadhar
As Sri Gaurachandra was his very life, Sri Gadadhara always stayed close to Him and when Mahaprabhu moved to Puri after taking Sanyas, Gadadhara pandit too moved to Sri Kshetra Puri dham and took up Kshetra sanyas, which means that he would not leave Jagannath Puri.
In Pancha tattva to the left of Mahaprabhu is Gadadhara Pandita.
After the disappearance of Sri Gaurahari, due to intense separation, Sri Gadadhara pandita became old very fast and therefore in order to accept service from Gadadhara, Gopinath sat down and this is the only deity of Lord Krishna in the world in sitting position. However, due to unbearable separation from Sri Gaurahari, the very lord of his life, Gadadhara pandita very soon disappeared from this world by entering into the deity of Sri Tota Gopinath. Sri Gadadhara Pandita’s father’s name was Sri Madhava Misra and his mother’s name was Sri Ratnavati Devi. Gaurahari used to often play with Gadadhara Pandita. They both went to the same village school together to study. Gadadhara Pandita was a year younger than Gaurahari. Gadadhara had so much affection for Gaurahari that he could not leave his company even for a moment.
While residing there, he would, with great love and devotion, serve Sri Tota Gopinath. These deities were manifested by Mahaprabhu Himself from a garden. Sri Krishna Chaitanya came here to relish Sri Gadadhara’s rasika reading of Srimad Bhagavatam.
